Truth be told, I’m more then a little afraid of fire. There is no repressed childhood trauma or past life memory, it is just a good, old fashioned fear and respect for a destructive force. Several years ago, a large house a few doors down from where I was living caught on fire. It was only a few days before Christmas, and the fire was devastating. We invited one of the couples into our home to warm up, while we kept an eye on the fire, hoping it wouldn’t jump from house to house. Thankfully the fire was put out quickly, and no one was injured. After the next snowfall, we awoke to find our walkway shovelled – repayment for our kindness, I think.
