When doing a Tarot reading, dates of events can sometimes be determined based on the card in the relevant position. Perhaps the most general way to do this is to separate specific Major Arcana cards from the deck (or keep a separate Major Arcana deck for this purpose), and deal out a card specifically with the intention of determining the timing of the event being examined. The date would then be based on Zodiac sign corresponding to the card dealt.
